I heard one of the most amazing little stories today! And yet it's a story that I wish I heard more often. A lady contacted me to take pictures. I asked her what type of session she was looking to be photographed for and she explained she needed a portrait session. After Hair and makeup with one of the most talented women, Jessica Faye Beauty, I sat and talked with Heiki for awhile. I asked her, what made her decide to do this session? This was not my most famous boudoir session, nor a family session, but just herself, one on one with me, displaying who she is. Heiki replied that she hadn't had her portrait taken since the 90's and her 80 year old mother really urged her to get it done reminding her that life is short and you need to leave a little something behind. So, she said, I'm doing this for my mom, a gift for her on Mother's day. What a most amazing gift to give! I looked over Heiki outfit and I knew I needed to take her to the ranch location. She lit up when she saw it and I knew who this woman was within a few moments of our session. I am honoured to take this ladies portrait that her mother and her children will have for a lifetime! When is the last time you have had your portrait taken? Life is short and goes by in a minute, and tomorrow is not promised. Will your family have a cherished photograph of you? Will your loved ones have a photograph that will display who you are today? If you havent been photographed in the last five years, it's time to do so!
