Amazing time with these newly weds! They were really able to let loose and have a great time!
How do you truly stop and live in the moment with all the planning of a wedding? I sometimes wonder this as I never actually did a full blown wedding with my husband. We chose justice of the peace, and every time I thought of doing a wedding, I found an island some where in the world that sounded better. ;) After shooting a ton of weddings and different venues in Colorado and watching hundreds of women walk through their special day, it truly is something to see how each individual bride plans, preps and delivers on her day. From First look planning, to making sure the bridal party is ready for pictures, making time for everything in between, I just don't know how these women stop to enjoy this very special day. I do have to say step one would be to have a good wedding planner. One who is not afraid to give orders, and keep everyone in line. ;) Especially when there maybe a little PRE-drinking going on. A good wedding planner will definitely take some of the stress from the bride. Next recommendation while drinking has come up, is to have a bit of champagne around. It takes a little of the nerves off and helps both bride and groom to relax just a bit. Next...Maid of honor is a must! The maid of honor can be such a great support for the bride ahead of time. Making her laugh with remember whens, reminding her that she looks beautiful, ensuring her everything is going well, and to be the go to person in between the bride and groom while they cannot see each other. Finally I would say ,sometimes while Im photographing and something un-expected may come up I found it had been very comforting to the bride to take of my photography hat for just a moment and just look her eyes and remind her to and take in all the commotion of the day and just smile, that this is her story playing out! Ill watch then for a moment as her eyes will roam about the place and take it in and then picking my camera back up, I snap a picture of her in the moment.
